A space where you don't have to hold everything together.
You can show up here exactly as you are — tired, overwhelmed, uncertain, or finally ready for something to change. There's no pressure to perform, explain, or have it all figured out.
You spend a lot of your life taking care of other people — showing up at work, at home, in your relationships, in your community — and somewhere along the way, your own needs got pushed to the bottom of the list.
Maybe you're exhausted from holding everything together. Maybe you're anxious, overthinking, burned out, or caught in patterns of perfectionism and people-pleasing. Maybe you're navigating motherhood, a relationship shift, a career change, grief, trauma, or a season where you just don't feel like yourself anymore.
You don't have to be in crisis to deserve support. Sometimes the hardest part is knowing something needs to change, even when you can't quite name it yet.
Whatever you're carrying, you don't have to carry it alone.

Therapy doesn't have to feel like sitting across from someone who silently analyzes you while you wonder what they're thinking. It can be warm, conversational, honest, and real.
I bring clinical training and 15+ years of social work experience into the room, but I’m also a person. I’ll ask questions, reflect back what I notice, challenge you when it’s helpful, and laugh with you when the moment calls for it.
You can cry, swear, change your mind, not know what to say, or admit something you're afraid sounds ridiculous. You don't have to be polished or put together here. In fact, you don't have to be anything other than exactly who you are in this moment.
No therapy performance required. Just you, me, and whatever's actually going on.
This is a space for women across every stage, identity, body, relationship, and experience of life. You don't have to explain or defend who you are, who you love, or how your family is structured.
I’m deeply committed to providing affirming therapy for LGBTQ+ women and gender-diverse clients, including lesbian, bi, pan, queer, trans, and non-binary people. I also welcome people in polyamorous, open, and ethically non-monogamous relationships — because your relationship structure isn't automatically the problem.
Whether your identity is central to why you're coming in or simply part of the background of your life, you get to show up as your whole self here.
Heather Wheeler, LCSW has been working in the field of social work since 2010. That experience matters — but not because it means sitting across from you with a clipboard and a clinical stare. It means she's had the time, training, and real-world exposure to walk with people through hard things without losing the human connection at the center of it all.

No. Many of the women I work with are functioning well on the outside and quietly exhausted underneath. You don't need a diagnosis or a crisis to deserve support — wanting something to feel different is enough of a reason to start.
Anxiety and overthinking, burnout, perfectionism and people-pleasing, motherhood and postpartum adjustment, relationships and boundaries, grief and loss, trauma, body image, identity and self-worth, and career or life transitions.
Yes. I work with women through pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, and early parenting — including the identity shifts, anxiety, and pressure to appear fine that often come with it.
Yes. Secure video sessions are available to clients located anywhere in Arizona, and in-person sessions are available at my central Phoenix office at 3101 N. Central Ave, Suite 0174.
It's a conversation, not an interview. We talk about what brought you in, what you'd like to be different, and how we might work together. There's nothing to prepare and no right way to show up.
You don't need to have the right words or a neat story. You just need to be curious enough to start. I'll meet you there.
